1978	Brothers and current owners David and John Moulton founded Riverfront Marine in 1978. Originally the shop was located on the Merrimac River, in their grandfather's garage. In this little garage is where David and John joined forces to build one of the North Shores largest and longest running boat dealerships, beginning with selling and repairing Mercury Outboards. David went to school to perfect his service skills and John went to Bentley College and earned a bachelors degree in accounting. So with David steadily repairing the motors and John steadily at the books, Riverfront was on its way.
1982	As time grew on and the business flourished, it became obvious that the garage would no longer be able to provide enough room for the brothers and their Mercury’s. After careful consideration and much discussion David and John's parents (Ray & Kay Moulton, owners of Plum Islands Surfland Bait and Tackle) purchased a piece of land in Salisbury with the intentions of renting the land to David and John for their growing business. And so the shop took on its new location in Salisbury. MA. There the brothers had a house that provided a big garage and show room as well as plenty of yard space, in turn enough room to expand and take on boats as well.
1985	After several years, the brothers decided that Riverfront was progressively growing and needed a larger facility. With all of the yard space already at the Salisbury location, the next step was clear, "the big blue building" right off of interstate 95 and route 110, what you see now. By this time their sister Cathy Moulton had joined the family team adding to the customer relation and sales department.
1991	Riverfront acquired a marina on the scenic Parker River in Newbury, MA. Where our manager and friendly crew members will be more than happy to assist you in any of your docking needs.
2001	With both locations flourishing the brothers decided it would be best to have David be the face of the marina.  So David moved down to the Parker River to take over as the General Manager of our marina providing your marina customers with the exceptional service they have become accustomed to receiving from Riverfront Marine.
2004	Our Marina in Newbury underwent a large renovation project with an all new state of the art service department, new parts department, new storage racks and more. It is our goal to make boating as fun and worry free while improving our services and facility. At this time Riverfront is proud to say that we have been in business for over 28 years and counting. Riverfront is a family business, with David managing the marina in Newbury and the Salisbury crew has John at the sales desk, John's wife Leslie in the finance office, John's daughter Sarah in the Ship Store, Raymond and Cathy still assisting in business decisions and not to mention the many skilled crew members. We will all be glad to help you!
Today	To date Riverfront is proud of all its boat lines we have available to our customers; Starcraft (aluminum at its best), Parker (strength and sea worthiness), and Wellcraft (best-in-class for innovations, performance, and reliability). Inflatables by Mercury. We also have six engine companies to chose from; Mercury O/B, Johnson O/B, Evinrude O/B, Yamaha O/B (only available in packages), Volvo Penta I/O and Mercruiser I/O. With parts, service, sales, financial and accessory departments, rest-assure we will have what you want!
